Pet cameras are perfect for when you’re out of the home for a little while and you need to make sure your furry friend is doing well at home alone. Here are some of the many pet cams out there and what each does best!

Under $100

Motorola Scout66: Price $99

Features:

  • With the Motorola Scout66, you can monitor your dog’s environment, including changing room temperature.
  • You can also recored and store videos for later.
  • It has infrared night vision.
  • Can connect up to four cameras.

  • More advanced features require a Hubble Connected subscription.

Petcube: Price $149

Features:

  • 138-degree wide-angle HD video camera with recording capabilities
  • Two-way audio so you can talk to your dog and hear them back
  • Motion- and sound-detection capabilities.
  • Built-in laser pointer toy on the Petcube app that allows you to play with your dog from another location.
  • Sturdy and sleek design.

 

Cons:

  • This option has no treat dispenser, which is not ideal if your four-legged friend is easily distracted.

Petzi Treat Cam: Price $169.99

Features:

  • The Petzi Treat Cam connects to Wi-Fi.
  • Remote treat dispenser.
  • Can take pictures through the app and post n the Petzi Social Network.

  • Multiple mounting options.

Cons:

  • Treats in the dispensary must be smaller than 1 inch, so this is not great if you have a big dog who likes big treats.
  • The audio only goes one way, so you can not hear your pup.

Pawbo Pet Camera: Price $199

Features:

  • Pawbo Pet Camera has a minimalist design.
  • 110 degree ultra wide camera lens 720p HD video recording and photography.
  • Revolving treat tray to dispense treats to your furry friend.
  • Pawbo has a laser dot chase game with manual and automatic modes that allows you to interact with your pup.

Cons:

  • Pawbo does not have night vision capabilities, so this isn’t a great choice if you are watching your dog at night often.

PetChatz HD: Price $379 (plus $99 for PawCall Button)

Features:

  • Live video steaming and person-to-pet communication.
  • Two-way video calling
  • Soothing scent dispensing capabilities.
  • Sound and motion detection.
  • PawCall button, which gives your dog the ability to call you. Just place it on the floor or wall and schedule call times on the PetChatz web app. A light will come on and your pet will press it to call you!

 

Cons:

  • With both PawChatz HD and the PawCall button, the price tag is almost $500.
