Puppy Preschool/AKC STAR Puppy

Teaches basic on-leash obedience and commands, along with house training, in a small group setting. Uses motivational, reward-based, and marker training. Cost: $379/7-week course.
*For puppies under 5 months old, proof of vaccinations required. Class size is limited, pre-registration required.*

Advanced Classes at Positive Pets Dog Training

Advanced classes are open only to clients who have graduated from select Private Lesson or Transformation Academy training programs

Distraction Class

This class will serve as a transitional step for clients who have just completed their Private Lesson or Transformation training programs. The class will help build confidence in implementing the Positive Pets methods.

When: Tuesdays – 6 pm @ Meridian

When: Thursdays – 7 pm @ Boise

When: Saturdays – 11 am @ Boise & Meridian

*Clients should attend 6-8 intro classes before moving on to the advanced class.*

Distraction Class

This class will serve as a pre-requisite to the Advanced Off-Leash Class and other specialty classes.

Advanced Off-Leash Class

Teaches your dog how to respond positively in real-life situations while off leash. Builds on skills learned in the Distraction class.

When: Tuesdays – 7 pm @ Meridian

When: Wednesdays – 9 am – @ Boise

When: Thursdays – 6 pm – @ Boise

When: Saturday – 10 am – @ Boise & Meridian

*Clients should attend 12-24 of these classes before moving on to the Specialty Classes*

Novice Tricks

Don’t underestimate the power of education! Engage your dog’s mind by teaching them different dog tricks. We will teach you how to lure and communicate with your dog to do a plethora of different behaviors. You can even earn an AKC Trick Dog Title or two! Novice Agility

Jump, Over, and Through. Teach your dog how to maneuver over, under and through different agility equipment. Learn how to move with your dog to make sure you two can get the fastest time. This class teaches basic concepts of Agility. See if this dog sport is something you and your dog will enjoy!

Intermediate Tricks

Outdoor Adventure

Have you ever wondered how people don’t crash with their dog while riding a bike? How about getting your dogs attention off those darn squirrels? This outdoor adventure class is right for you. We will have fun paddle boarding, swimming and going to the park. Let us show you how to have fun with your dog in the great outdoors!

Service Dog Class

Fri, November 1, 2024 -5pm @ Boise

This class teaches anyone who has a disability what it means to have a service dog. We will cover different behaviors that should be known before going into public. We will help you train for certifications, develop proper expectations and discuss laws/regulations surrounding Services Dogs.

Therapy Dog Class

Fri, November 1, 2024 -6pm @ Boise

If you are going to volunteer, why not go with your dog. This course is designed to set you up for testing with a therapy dog organization like Go Team Therapy Dogs (see goteamdogs.org) We will train you and your dog how to get out into your community and spread the joy that only dogs can give. We will have active volunteers that will help give advice on entering the therapy dog community. We will help you train different behaviors that help in public and even test to get your dogs in preparation for joining a team.

Foothills Etiquette

Tues, November 12, 2024 -6pm @ TBD

Explore Idaho’s great outdoors with this Foothills Etiquette course. Take the Rivers to Ridges Trail Pledge with us. We will teach you how to navigate sharing the trails with other dogs, bikes and fellow hikers. Learn how to stay safe while spending some quality outdoor time with your dog!
